| DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES |
|
|
- The position reports to the director of APEC Climate Center. He/She will work in close consultation with the Head of Science Department.
- Visiting Scientist＊s research field will be Climate Prediction/ Climate Modeling/ Climate Change or related fields.
* Depending on the needs of the institute, the job duties and projects may change as and when needed.

| QUALIFICATIONS |
|
|
- Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Atmospheric Science, Meteorology, Climatology, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics and Geophysics.
- Research experience as evidenced by publications in reputed international journal.
- Computer programming: Linux, Unix, Fortran, Windows, GrADS and etc.
- Handling, Analysis and Interpretation of Climate Observations and extensive global data products.
- Oral and written skills to develop a project proposal in English.

| OTHER REQUIREMENTS |
Tenure
Appointments are for a minimum period of one year. Period can be extended on mutual agreement.

| SALARY |
Annual salary will range from 40,000,000 ~ 60,000,000 Korean won, which is subject to taxes, based on the length of the research experience and qualifications after attaining Ph.D. Salary will not be a constraint and is negotiable for highly qualified individuals.
Benefits (Industrial Accident Compensation Insurance, National Pension, paid time off and holidays) will be covered according to the law of Korean Social Insurance and APCC staff management rules and regulations.
Visiting scientists will have access to APCC data and computing facilities. Visiting scientists are encouraged to bring in their regional climate data to share with APCC scientists and to facilitate their research during their visit.

* Short-listed candidates will be asked to write a detailed proposal on the research activity they prepare to carry out during the appointment. Successful candidates will be notified within 30 days after review of APCC.
* Final Nominee will be asked to submit Medical Certificate.
