Producing high quality climate prediction information

As the seasonal climate forecast is a main product of APCC, continuous efforts have been made to improve the quality of forecast by examining prediction models, ensemble methods and post-processing of climate forecast. The efforts will be continued together with researches to understand the climate system and its variability and changes aiming eventually the enhancement of climate predictability in various scales. Nowadays, the span of APCC's climate prediction information is expanding to cover subseasonal to the interannual phenomena.

Delivering relevant climate information to the decision makers

More than the better quality of the climate prediction information, the mechanism to delivering relevant information in an appropriate format is one big obstacle to realize the value of climate prediction. APCC's endeavor to enhance the utility of climate information consists of two research areas: to improve delivering mechanism of climate information and to produce sector-oriented climate information, which is ready to be used by decision makers. Researches on the climate informatics and application of climate information in various sectors such as agriculture, water, and energy are carried out.

International Cooperative Research

APCC conducts international cooperative researches with institutions in the region to implement various scientific researches and expand its domestic and international activities. To enhance the quality of research, it is essential to utilize and share intellectual and technical resources with partners in the limited environment. The final report of each cooperative research will be accessible in the Publication menu once the research completes.
